 The Business Analyst must be insanely curious about how organizations work and seek to understand why people do what they do to get their job done.  Passionately believes that IT exists to support business. Take exceptional pleasure in finding creative solutions that increase values of final product so that end users and stakeholders are delighted with the results. 

Must be able to employ latest techniques in addition to time tested methodologies such as interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process description to satisfy your curiosity.  Document findings in a format that ranges from use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis so that the technical team can make them into reality. Must have the ability to interact with clients and senior team members from various organizations, industry and government communities.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents our client in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current clients, suppliers and the community we serve.  Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients and other customers of our services, learns and uses operating practices of the department and our client.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers, and internal application engineers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver artifacts such as Requirements Documents and Specs.  
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Work independently with end users to define concepts, and under the direction of project managers
  • Drive and challenge project managers and application engineers on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute the project plans, and requirements.
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community, and the software development team to achieve successful product direction.

Minimum Position Requirements: 

Knowledge:        

  • Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems, and methodologies

  • 3-5 years of experience as Business Systems Analyst
  •  Experience in Java, J2EE, and SQL is preferred but not required.

Skills:                  

  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer group including; executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Abilities:             

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have ability to interact with clients and senior staff members from various organizations, industry, and government communities. 

Requirements

Knowledge:   

  •  Expert at OO Analysis and Design techniques
  •  Expert at Logical Data modeling and design techniques
  •  Working knowledge of Application Servers – Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, Oracle, Java, J2EE, and SQL is preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of Web Servers – Apache and IIS is preferred

 

Skills:                   Willing to provide technical design and provide feedback to connect project’s objectives with organization strategic goals. 

 

Abilities:             Able to facilitate large group of multidiscipline participants to agree on common objectives using advanced facilitation techniques to brainstorm, reduce conflicts, and identify solutions.
