Proposal Writer Job Responsibilities:
Prepares proposals by determining concept; gathering and
formatting information; writing drafts; obtaining approvals.
Proposal Writer Job Duties: Review, analyze,
and interpret technical and administrative requirements provided in Sources
Sought, RFIs, and RFPs to gain a thorough understanding of the objectives of
each solicitation. Develops
proposal by assembling information including project nature,
objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing,
budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and
editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization
credentials.
Develop and
integrate win themes, discriminators, and key success factors for responses. Creates
style manuals and acronym lists that are customized for each proposal effort
Ensure the proper contextual integrity of each completed proposal section by
reviewing edits with the respective SME/contributor. Prepares
presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing. Conceptualize
clear, informative technical graphics
Requirements: Experience
managing and writing small- to large-scale strategic proposals to primarily government
agencies Minimum 3 years
of proposal writing experience. Experience in writing complete proposals,
including a clear understanding of how to strategically read RFPs/RFQs/RFIs,
key roles and responsibilities on a proposal development team, and proven
capacity to deliver high quality proposals. Experience in
procurement preferred. Knowledge of
Shipley proposal process a plus. Meet tight
deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality. Proven track
record of collaborating in a team environment to get the job done under all
circumstances. Must be
proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation and possess the ability to
proofread with a critical eye. Proficiency with
the Microsoft Suite. Proficient in all aspects of desktop publishing in
Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Ability to format documents, apply
styles and templates, and build tables and graphics.
