The GSA Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) Center is proud to offer the first contract vehicle set-aside exclusively for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) firms. These contracts enable federal agencies to fulfill their information technology (IT) requirements through the utilization of small businesses that are located in HUBZones. Agencies have a statutory goal to spend three percent of their federal procurement dollars with HUBZone small business firms.

Contract awards were made to 36 technology firms who are certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as HUBZone firms. These firms represent seven Functional Areas (FA). The seven functional areas, designated by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) are listed below.

Benefits

The HUBZone procurement "Rule of Two" is satisfied using the fair opportunity process inherent in this contract vehicle.
Federal agencies will be able to fulfill their IT requirements through the utilization of small businesses that are located in a HUBZone.
Task orders are non-protestable.
Federal agencies have a means to comply with the statutory goal of 3 percent of procurement dollars to HUBZone-certified firms.
A variety of technology solutions are offered in seven specific functional areas.
HUBZone credit can be transferred back to client agency via Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS).
Assistance with an order is available from GSA Federal Technology Service through its online ordering system IT-Solutions Shop. As an alternative, agency contracting officers who wish to conduct their own procurements may access these contracts by requesting a delegation of authority from a GSA HUBZone GWAC Procuring Contracting Officer.
